Giselle and Julissa: Siblings benefit from PYO and community mentors

Hope we’ll see you at LUEWWD XIV: Double O LUEWWD on October 15th!

The two videos below introduce you to Giselle and her sister Julissa who both took part in Partners for Youth Opportunity’s mentoring program. The videos were put together by students enrolled at the Center for Documentary Studies’ Video Institute this summer.

The first, a view into the life of Giselle, was prepared by researcher and legislator from EducationNC Alex Granados and his Video Institute partner Jennifer Durham. In it “[Giselle] told us about her varied education experiences in North Carolina and the struggles she has had to overcome as a low-income student.”

In the second video, Julissa (Giselle’s sister) talks about her work with artist Cassidy James Logan, illustrating a children’s book written by Bethany Dalton.
